KARACHI: Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has emphasized the need to spread the message of peace and love given by Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai.
On the occasion of 274th annual Urs of Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai, the PPP chairman said that Sindh was the land of Sufism and will remain the same forever. Bilawal termed his party as the continuity of Sufi thoughts in the modern time as it had also sacrificed its popular leaders in their struggle for the downtrodden. He said that Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai was a towering philosopher who promoted brotherhood and tranquillity in society. The PPP chief further said although terrorists were trying to attack and defeat Sufi landmarks, but wouldn’t be able to do so because Sufism was ingrained deeply in the Indus Valley. Bilawal Bhutto Zardari also extended greetings to the Sikh community in Pakistan and abroad on 548th birth anniversary of founder of Sikhism Guru Nanak Dev. The PPP chairman welcomed the Sikh pilgrims who came to Nankana Sahib, the birthplace of Guru Nanak, from all over the world to mark Guru Nanak’s birthday. Bilawal was of the view that all citizens of Pakistan were equal and there was no discrimination, as guaranteed by the Constitution of Pakistan. He said the teachings of Guru Nanak Dev were based on principles of peace and love among humanity.
