The local police, on the intervening night of Thursday and Friday, recovered a man, aged 28, who was previously kidnapped, after an encounter at the Katcha Area of the Tehsil Lakhi Ghulam Shah. The kidnapped man, a resident of Chak Town, was identified as Sadam Hussain, the son of Khadim Hussain Shaikh.
According to an official of Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Office Shikarpur, a team from Bachal Bhayo Police Station, headed by Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Lakhi Ghulam Shah, Agha Abdul Majeed Pathan, and Station House Officer (SHO) Chak Muhammad, Ayoub Dogar, raided at Katcha Area after getting a tip.
When the police reached the area, the kidnappers were trying to change the location of kidnapped man and the kidnappers, after seeing that the police surrounded the area, opened indiscriminate fire on the police. The firing continued for an hour from both the parties and the kidnappers, taking the advantage of darkness, left behind the kidnapped man, the official added. After recovering the young man, who was kidnapped on the 11th of July, he was moved to SSP Office Shikarpur and was handed over to his relatives after necessary formalities while the police initiated a manhunt to arrest the kidnappers.
